Twitter is a place to share your lunch, let your follows know what you’re up too, and to have some debates. We have fought over the color of a dress, if water is wet or not, and now what people are hearing in this audio clip.

Some debate they hear “laurel” and others hear “yanny”. Pretty weird, right? The clip was spoken by a robot on a vocabulary website, where you can hear words being spoken.

Times traced the audio clip back to Georgia high school student, Roland Szabo. Roland explained that he was working on a school project and needed a recording of some words for the project. He stumbled upon the recording of the bot saying “laurel” and his fellow peers disagreed on what they heard.

Roland then sent it to his friend and he made an Instagram poll, and then became viral earlier this week.

What do you hear? Here’s the link for the original recording on Vocabulary.com page for “laurel”. https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/laurel
