Avengers: Infinity War is 10 years in the making, with 18 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe leading up to this one monumental film. All of Marvel’s characters come together to stop Thanos from collecting all 6 infinity stones and becoming the most powerful villian the world’s mightest heros have ever faced.

Opening Thursday night, with Marvel and Disney’s highest opening ever, $39 million, continuing through the weekend with a domestic $250 million to Disney and $650 million worldwide.

Black Panther is also still in the running coming in #5, even with being released in Februray. The film beat out Disney’s $248 million that “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” made in 2015.

The film’s production cost was roughly $220 million, but in the first weekend Disney easily made that back, with some to spare. Infinity War is projected to become the highest grossed movie of all time and is well on its way.
