Earlier in the week, Henrik and Daniel Sedin both announced that this week would be their last week in the NHL. Ever since their announcement, the Sedin twins have been getting lots of love from the Vancouver Canucks fans.

On Tuesday April 3, 2018, the Vancouver Canucks played against the Las Vegas Golden Knights. The game went to a shootout. before the shootout the Sedin twins jumped over the boards on to the ice. As they got on the ice, an arena of 18,865 fans rose to their feet to give the Sedin twins a round of applause to thank them for all of their 17 seasons in NHL.

The Sedin twins usually never get a turn in the shootout, but this night was different because it was the Sedin’s second to last home game. Both of the Sedin twins went in the Shootout. They both missed though. The crowed groaned when they missed.

After the game, fans stayed on their feet and continued to cheer for the Sedins. The Sedins raised their sticks and clapped at the fans. Then they shook hands with the entire Las Vegas Golden Knights players. The fans cheered again, and the Sedins raised their sticks and clapped back again.

After the game, Henrik said, “It doesn’t matter for us if we score or not the last couple games. It’s a great feeling to be part of. I mean it was fun.”

Daniel after the game said, “It was something you’re going to remember.”

Daniel and Henrik sedin are retiring after spending 17 years in the NHL. Both of the Sedins have put up great numbers in their career. Both of the Sedins will be very missed in the NHL.
