The Liverpool Central School District holds biweekly meetings regarding student activities and district wide issues. These meetings get a bad rep for being boring and lengthy; however, as it turns out, these board meetings are not so boring.

The meeting that took place on Monday, April 2nd the board continued their discussion on the budget. A normally boring issue took an interesting turn when the board members began what may have to be cut in order to balance the budget.

Afterwards the discussion heard back towards the students. A discussion regarding whether or not class rank is vital to on’s education or successful future. The board may look into other options that will replace having class ranks.

JD and Fayetteville-Manliuis school districts have already gone away with class ranks. The board wishes to look further into this to maybe help elevate the negative competitive aspects that overwhelm students in the learning environment.

So, you see these board meetings are not so boring! The next meeting is Monday, April 16th at 7:00pm at the District Office.
