February 17th to February 25th were the days of Liverpool High Schools February break.

Although many were on vacations in sunny places such as Florida, Mexico, and even India, here in Syracuse and over two dozen other places in the East Coast an all time high record was made for weather in the past week.

And with temperatures such as 70 degrees in Maine, 80 degrees in Massachusetts, and New York reaching up to 78 degrees the East Coast felt more June like rather than February.

The last high for February  was in 1985, when New York got up to 75 degrees. And that high finally broke less than a week ago.

However, after the beginning of the week the temperatures died down, but still not to the “norm” for February.

From Thursday on the weather has stayed higher for February from 45 to 50 degrees when it is  normally expected to be 30 below with snow. But due to all the rain and high temperatures most of the snow has been melted and the high temperatures of 50 degrees are expected to continue.

So although many wish they could fly away for break to a sunny spot, here in Syracuse we got to feel some temperatures making it feel as though we were on a beach ourselves.
