As we move toward the end of the 2016/2017 school year, the students not only in Liverpool High School but nationwide are confronted with the same situation.

We are all stuck in a constant loop of the same thing over and over again. You wake up at 6 in the morning, you go to school, you come home, you do homework, you eat dinner, and you go to bed. That’s it.

Nothing more. Nothing less. We are all in this sort of academic haze, no real motivation behind it.

We are all living the same sort of boring saga over and over again. Personally, I find all of this very discouraging.

No one really wants to do the constant bookwork and exams. With what reward does it come? A diploma at the end of the tunnel.

But at the same time, why does anyone want the better part of their childhood and adolescence to boil down to your name written on a nice piece of paper?

Thinking like this is what gets us into the belief of the mid-year slump. The only thing you can say to describe this is, “ I’m tired, and none of this is important”.

So us, once bright and shiny students, slack off. We let ourselves slip. We get behind, and we catch up. It is a constant loop.
